Structure: Your home's structure consists of its footings and foundation, the framing, and the roof structure.
Roofing: Your home's roofing system consists of the roof's sheathing (usually plywood or oriented strand board), the roof's coverings (usually felt paper and shingles), associated flashings, and gutters/downspouts.
Exterior: Your home's exterior consists of the exterior cladding (wall surfaces, doors and windows, soffits and fascia, and associated flashings).
Insulation & ventilation: The insulation and ventilation system of your home consists of your home's floor, wall, and attic insulation, appropriate vapor barriers, and the ventilation of the attic and crawlspace.
Plumbing: The plumbing system consists your home's supply piping, water heater, drain, waste, and vent piping, and plumbing fixtures and faucets.
Electrical: Your home's electrical system consists of the service drop to the home, the service rating (total amps to the home), the service panel, distribution panel, distribution wiring, outlets and switches, and lighting.
Heating and cooling: Your home's heating and cooling system consists of its heat pump (or furnace and air conditioning equipment), ductwork, and venting.
Interior: Your home's interior consists of the flooring, walls, cabinets, stairways, trim, interior doors, and smoke detectors.
Appliances: The home inspection includes those appliances which are installed. These usually include the stove, oven, dishwasher, trash compactor, garbage disposal, and built-in microwave oven.
